We are members of:
Organizations we have been involved with:
Taste of Home
HOME: Living in the Heart of Florida presented taste of HOME in June 2010. Benefiting the Child Advocacy Center, Children’s Home Society of Florida and Leadership Gainesville Alumni Association, this event raised $30,000 for these organizations. Student Maid team members volunteered their time setting up and cleaning up the event! Our auction items alone raised close to $2,000, almost 7% of all money donated!
Phoenix Fox Trot
Eight year old Phoenix Fox was diagnosed with Pompe Disease when he was just an infant. Student Maid threw the “Phoenix Fox Trot” in February of 2009 in order to raise money for Pompe research. We raised over $15,000 in services from local businesses to put on the event which was held at Hawthorne Trail. Over $5,000 was raised to fund Dr. Barry Byrne’s research efforts at the University of Florida. To learn more about Phoenix and Pompe, visit www.phoenixfox.net.
St. Patrick’s Coconut Ball at the Swamp
Student Maid team members volunteered babysitting services for St. Patrick’s 50th Anniversary celebration! We also raised money for the school with our many auction items. Family Fun and Safety Expo Student Maid team members participated in this outdoor event benefiting Big Brother Big Sisters. We had so much fun and enjoyed contributing to such a great cause!
Lauren’s Angels
Student Maid was proud to help out at the Lauren’s Angels 5K Family Fun Charity Event in honor of Lauren Ault, a Gainesville native who suffers from a brain stem tumor. We were all inspired watching Lauren take the first steps of the race! This event raised over $10,000 for Lauren and her family. How inspiring!
Reindeer Run
Student Maid team members gave a helping hand at the Taylor Fit for Kids Reindeer Run. The run encouraged kids of all ages to get out and fight against childhood obesity. We were happy to be a part of it!
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
The Student Maid team cleaned a house on TV for Extreme Makeover! Thirty employees traveled to Middleburg and volunteered their time cleaning, painting, and even building! It felt great to help a deserving family in such a powerful way!
